A Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment marching snare drum; the painted wood shell depicting a White Hart and bearing the military motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense", adorned with battle/campaign honours for Namur (1695), Blenheim, Ramillies, Oudenarde, Malplaquet, Surinam, Chitral, South Africa (1900-02), Mons, Marne (1914), Ypres (1914, 15, 17), Loos, The Somme (1916, 18), Arras (1917-18), Cambrai (1917-18), Sambre, Sulva, Gaza, calfskin drumhead with rope tension system, gut snares, paintwork signed K. Nicholls, 38cm diameter, 41cm tall.
