A Royal Marines marching snare drum; the painted brass shell bearing the royal motto "Dieu et mon droit", the military motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" and the Royal Marines motto "Per mare, per terram", calfskin drumheads with rope tension system, gut snares, makers mark for A.F. Matthews, London, dated 1950, 37cm diameter 39 tall, offered together with a brown leather strap and a pair of ebonised drum sticks.
