A 1st Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment marching snare drum; the painted brass shell bearing the military motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" and the royal motto "Dieu et mon droit", adorned with battle/campaign honours for Louisburg, Quebec (1759), Maida, Egypt (1882), Nile (1884-85) and Abu Klea, calfskin drumhead with rope tension system, gut snares, paintwork signed K. Nicholls, stamped Premier, London, dated 1941, 39cm diameter, 41cm tall, offered together with two snare drums, makers marks for Henry Potter & Co., London and Windsor, Birmingham.
