An Antiques & Collectables Auction to include a large single owner collection of military drums, Thursday 27th August 2026

A 36th Middlesex Anti-Aircraft Battalion marching bass drum; the painted mahogany shell bearing the royal motto "Dieu et mon droit", the royal motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" and the Royal Artillery motto "Quo fas et gloria ducunt", the drum also bears the name of the 317th Company Royal Engineers (T.A.), which was amalgameted into the 36th Battalion, calfskin drumhead with rope tension system, paintwork signed K. Nicholls, 72cm diameter, 32cm tall.
