A 2nd Battalion The Queen's Royal Regiment marching snare drum; the painted brass shell depicting a lamb of god, bearing the military motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" and the historic regimental mottos "pristinae virtutis memor" and "vel exuviae triumphant", adorned with extensive battle/campaign honours including the oldest battle honour in the British army in Tangier (1662), as well as Namur (1695), Peninuslar, Aghanistan & Ghunzee (1839), Gallipoli (1915), The Somme (1916, 18), Ypres (1914, 17, 18), also bearing the date 1st June 1794, commemoratimg the Battle of the Glorious 1st of June, totalling 32 honours, calfskin drumhead with rope tension system, gut snares, paintwork signed K. Nicholls, makers mark for Boosey & Hawkes, London, serial number 24275, 37cm diameter, 40cm tall.
