A 4th/5th Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers marching snare drum; the painted wood shell depicting the Edinburgh Castle badge and bearing their regimental mottos "In Veritate Religionis Confido" and "Nisi Dominus frustra" and the military motto "Nec Aspera Terrent", adorned with extensive battle/campaign honours including for Namur (1695), Minden, Aisne (1914), Gallipoli (1915-16), Ypres (1914, 15, 17, 18), The Somme (1916-18), Hindenburg Line, Dunkirk (1940), Imphal (1944), Arnhem (1944) and Korea (1952-52), totalling 31 honours, modern lugs and snare tension screws, produced by Carlton, Dallas & London, 37cm diameter, 32cm tall.
