A 6th Battalion Devonshire Regiment marching bass drum; the painted mahogany shell bearing the regimental motto "Semper Fidelis", adorned with battle/campaign honours for Pyrenees, Nive, Toulouse, Afghanistan (1879-80), Defence of Ladysmith, South Africa (1899-1900), Salamanca, Nivelle, Orthes, Peninsula, Tirah, Relief of Ladysmith, La Basee (1914), Bois des Buttes, Vittorio Veneto, Ypres (1915-17), Somme (1916-18), Palestine (1917-18), Mesopotamia (1916-18), calfskin drumhead with rope tension system, makers mark for Henry Potter & Co., London, 84cm diameter, 43cm tall.
