A 2nd Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment marching bass drum; the painted mahogany shell depicting a white hart stag with a crown around it's neck, also bearing the royal motto "Dieu et mon droit" and the military motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense", adorned with battle/campaign honours for Namur (1695), Martinique (1794), Rolica, Vimiera, Corunna, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Orthes, Peninsula, Niagara, South Africa (1846-7, 1851-3, 1899-1902), Atbara, Khartoum, Le Cateau, Marne (1914), Ypres (1914-17), Somme (1916-18), Arras (1917-18), Lys, Hindenburg Line, Piave, Sari Bair and Baghdad, calfskin drumhead with rope tension system, makers mark for George Potter & Co., Aldershot, paintwork signed K. Nicholls, 73cm diameter, 33cm tall, the drum heads and hoops have become loose.
