First up, Nick's choices...

Lot 243: Sold for £480 hammer

"The huge art deco poster 'Folies en Folie Mistinguett' by Paul Selten, it has a huge presence and decorative appeal, it looked stunning when I first saw it at the client's house and it looked very cool displayed in our saleroom too. I also love the history and the glamour of the lady in the image, Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois (aka Mistinguett)."

Lot 107: Sold for £1,000 hammer

"The pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain plaques, delicately painted with dragons chasing pearls of wisdom, and set in beautifully carved wooden frames. There is something forever fascinating about ancient Chinese works of art, so decorative and such history, and it can be quite exciting on the rostrum when your screen of online bids lights up with a quick succession of bids live from the far east."

Next up, Lucy chose...

Lot 352: Sold for £1,000 hammer

"I have always been drawn to Orkney chairs, their unique shape and traditional origins. Made on the Orkney Islands since the 1700s, the chairs gained popularity during the Arts and Crafts movement and remain highly sought after today."

Lot 56: Sold for £90 hammer

"I love majolica and the striking size and brown glaze on this bull immediately caught my eye when I saw it on a home visit. M Mafra Caldas is a famous 19th-century Portuguese ceramic workshop founded by Manuel Cipriano Gomes Mafra. Mafra pioneered a style of Palissy ware that featured a distinctive usage of moss as a decorative bed for fish, lizards, and insects."

Last but not least, Tom!

Lot 188: Sold for £5,000 hammer

"A 19th century coin operated Polyphon Musikwerk polyphon. A more sophisticated version of a punch-card operated 'player piano', this example of a polyphon is in astounding condition, as are the discs it comes with. The sheer mathematics of plotting a piece of music onto a circular disc makes this an incredible example of craftsmanship and creativity."

Lot 375: Sold for £100 hammer

"A good quality 19th century Erard rosewood cased upright piano. An incredibly decorative piece, which is in rather good condition given its age. Like any piano that has been around this long, it needs some tuning work, though it has a tremendous character and unique sound."
