A large Minton Art Pottery vase hand painted with an alpine scene by Edouard Rischgitz (Hungarian, 1829 - 1900), c. 1860's / 70's, depicting a goat herder leading his goats across a wooden bridge, and woodsmen chopping trees, between twin pendulous handles, signed to the base and bearing impressed factory marks to the underside, 53cm high, comes with an assosiated wooden stand, (af).

NB: Edouard Rischgitz was a pupil of Corot and medallist, before spending four years working at Mintons on the firm's exhibit for the 1867 Paris Exhibition Universelle.
