Lot 924 - William Scott 'Busby' from the Coronation Series, 1953, lithograph

"I have always admired William Scott's work, and this signed lithograph is an excellent starting point for anyone looking to begin collecting the artist's work."

Lot 705 - A late 19th / 20th century painted gesso Alhambra Plaque by Enrique Linares Granada

"Enrique Linares Garcia started trading a variety of souvenir works from within the Alhambra in the 1870s, later expanding the business with his brother Abelardo. They specialised in architectural models of different interior views of the palace. The V&A contains some amazing larger examples of these models, and it was a pleasure to examine and value two of these plaques in real life."

Lot 732 - Newton's New & Improved terrestrial pocket globe

"Pocket globes such as these were something of a novelty piece for the genteel in the mid 19th Century. Boasting very fine craftsmanship in its hand-painted gores, it also contains real insight into the cartography and geo-politics of the age."

Lot 884 - Henry Moore (1898-1986), 'Seated Mother and Child'

"Having attended University of Leeds, I am very familiar with the Henry Moore Institute, a fantastic gallery in the heart of the city. More known as a sculptor, I enjoy the abstract and minimal nature of his work and the primal subject matter that runs through this piece and all of his work."

Lot 874 - Charlie Shiels  'A lively bustling Spanish bar scene', oil on canvas

"This Charlie Shiels oil painting features a beautifully detailed and very lively bustling Spanish bar scene full of interesting characters, the sort of painting that you see something different in every time you look at it. Also, when the artist passed away in 2012, I was called in to carry out the probate valuation of the contents of his Manchester studio, a small room above a shop, I was amazed to find dozens and dozens of canvases just like this in there."

Lot 319 - gold backed and silver set brooch designed as a gentleman wearing a pith helmet riding a camel

"This very sweet little diamond encrusted brooch in the form of gentleman riding a camel, such an unusual little thing, a fun but beautiful object, and it particularly caught my eye as I’ve just come back from travelling across Morocco which involved riding a camel in the Sahara desert!"
