A 19th century copper 'slipper' ale warmer, with hinged lid and loop handle, 33cm long.

(The ale or cider went into the warmer and was pushed into the coals of the fire to heat it up, It is called a slipper warmer because of its shape, warm ale was a popular drink, especially during winter, and the warming process could often involve adding spices).
