Truck mascot / hood ornament: 'Bulldog' for Mack Trucks, inscribed 'MACK' and 'DESIGN PATENT 87931', chrome plated, height 13.5cm.

The iconic mascot for Mack Trucks isthe bulldog, which was chosen in 1921, inspired by the British military's nickname for the Mack AC model during World War I, as the trucks' blunt-nosed hoods and robust build reminded soldiers of the British bulldog. The bulldog was officially adopted as the corporate logo in 1922.
