Cecil Aldin RBA (British, 1870 - 1935), 'Barbara', depicts a cow tethered beside a tree and a milk pail, original drawing, signed with monogram and dated (18)88, it is worth noting Aldin was just 18 years old when he drew this, 23cm by 30cm, framed.
Purchased at David Lay Auctions, Penzance, Cornwall, 15th February 2007, where it was listed as 'Miss Emily Moore's Prize Winning Champion Jersey Cow'.
Provenance: from the private collection of Christopher Pacey-Day, amassed over the past 60 years, a businessman, councillor, and passionate art collector from Rugby, Warwickshire, whose late wife was the ballerina Sylvia Lorden.
