Attributed to Roberto Bompiani (Italian 1821-1908), portrait of the artist's wife Mary Eyre Bompiani, oil on canvas, unsigned, verso inscribed paper labels detailing provenance including one from Mary Eyre Bompiani bequeathing the portrait to her great niece (the current owner's father’s mother) in 1908, 59cm by 46cm, (a/f) provenance: by family descent, the painting hung in the great hall at Heath Brow in Hertfordshire for many years
