Norman Wilkinson CBE RI was a distinguished British artist renowned for his expertise in oils, watercolors, and drypoint techniques. While he primarily focused on marine subjects, his talents extended to illustration, poster design, and wartime camouflage. Notably, Wilkinson invented "dazzle painting" as a protective measure for merchant shipping during the First World War
