Odoardo Fantacchiotti (Italian, 1809/1811 - 1877), a fine carved carrara marble statue depicting a seated classical female figure holding a serpent in one hand and grapes in the other hand, sat on a plinth, signed and further inscribed at the back, together with an associated stone plinth base, statue approx 3' 4" high (102cm), associated plinth approx 3' 2" high (97cm), total combined height approx 6' 6" high. Signs of repairs to one wrist and one forearm, the family advise us that they can remember this sat in their fathers garden for at least 60 years, hence the lichen patina, the family are currently researching further provenance prior to this.
