A good large Trench Art shell case vase with Arts & Crafts decoration, inscribed 'War Museum Overloon 25 Mei 1946', amidst hammered decoration, castellated planished rim and shaped planished base, 60cm high.

The museum was opened on May 25, 1946, as the National War and Resistance Museum, making it one of the oldest museums in Europe dedicated to the Second World War.
