Two African tribal art carved wooden heddle pulleys, one in the form of a horned head (chips to horn tips), 16cm high, and one of architectural / tower form, 15cm high, each appear early to mid 20th century. (heddle pulleys are functional objects integral to the process of weaving textiles, used to ease the movement of the heddle, the part of the loom that separates alternate warp threads and allows the shuttle carrying the weft threads to pass through).
