Michael Cardew, an oval glazed dish with painted decoration of a palm tree and signed on base CM Abuja 1965, 49cm by 37cm. This Michael Cardew dish was commissioned by the vendor whilst in Nigeria. Michael Cardew visited the mine where he worked for the day. This is probably a one-off as Michael Cardew said these were not his usual style.
