Possibly the work of Herbert Cole "Nugget" Coombs (Australian, 1906 - 1997), an Australian economist and public servant, the first Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia from 1960 to 1968, noted for his contributions to the arts, environment, and Indigenous justice movement.
As first Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, he was responsible for approving the acquisition of Norma Redpath’s 'Immortal Warrior' (1963-64) for the Reserve Bank in Adelaide, and commissioning 'Sculpture Column' (1968-72) for the foyer of the Reserve Bank in Brisbane. In 1972, when Redpath was appointed the H.C. Coombs Creative Arts Fellow at ANU, Coombs was ANU Chancellor and inaugural chair of the Australian Council for the Arts.

NB: 17th century Batavian chairs are rare Dutch-colonial seating pieces crafted in Batavia (modern-day Jakarta), the administrative headquarters of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in Southeast Asia, formed when European chair designs met local Asian craftsmanship, influenced heavily by Tamil woodworkers from India's Coromandel Coast who relocated to Batavia under the VOC, and featured sculpturally carved flowers in relief. Wealthy Dutch colonists in Batavia used ornate furniture to project social rank and maintain European identity in a strict colonial hierarchy.
