After Pierre Louis Frederic Sauvage (French, 1786 - 1857), a bronze bust 'Ariadne', 19th century, impressed 'Reduction Sauvage', further impressed with foundry stamp 'Susse Freres', also bears numbers to the underside, 30cm high.
NB: a 'Reduction Sauvage' statue refers to a high quality 19th century bronze miniature replica of a famous historical or classical sculpture, cast by the French bronze workshop of Pierre Louis Frédéric Sauvage (1786–1857). 'Reduction' indicates it is a scale-down of a larger masterpiece.
