A Louis XV style gilt bronze and parquetry decorated writing desk en rognon in the manner of Millet a Paris, surmounted by a reclining Mars infant on a lion pelmet, holding a sword above a ribbon tied enamel dial, an arrangement of five small drawers and a pigeon hole below, the curved sides with scrolling two-light candelabra and reclining cherub, the leather inset writing surface above three frieze drawers flanked to the sides by a scrolling acanthus clasp surmounted by a head, on cabriole legs and foliate cast sabots, height 139cm, width 116cm, depth approx 69cm
