A Chinese bronze mirror, believed to be c.1480, bearing a character mark to the knop, also with an 18th century label attached with probable connection to John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute (1713 - 1792), 10cm diameter. Together with another smaller antique Chinese bronze mirror, 6cm diameter, (2).

Provenance: Private collection, larger mirror purchased fom Tapsell Antiques, Middle Street, Brighton, in 1983, and apparently previously owned by Louis Geering of Union Street in Brighton in the 1940's, then Horace Balchin of Castle Street in Brighton, then to Tapsell Antiques.
