A George III silver dish by Kandler, shell shaped bowl cast with caryatid handle, on three dolphin feet, the bowl under rim inscribed 'To David Lloyd George, Solver of the Insoluable' Dec 6, 1921, maker Frederick Kandler, London 1766, 56oz, width 35cm. The bowl is by repute a gift to Prime Minister David Lloyd George from Freddie Guest in recognition of the Lloyd George government's partition of Ireland, passed down by descent from Frances, Countess Lloyd George of Dwyfor, to the present owner
